Current Investigations
LG Law is investigating claims by consumers who have been billed for potentially improper recurring or annual charges on their credit card bills regarding “memberships” or “buying clubs” for which the credit card holder never signed up or otherwise authorized. LG Law is investigating such claims involving the marketing and business practices of Trilegiant/Affinion, Vertrue, Inc., Adaptive Marketing, LLC, and Idaptive Marketing, LLC, which may be or have already been accused of enrolling consumers in a “membership” program or “buying club” where the consumer allegedly is to receive a “discount” or “rebate.” The issue seems to arise when consumers are conducting business with merchants such as: 1800Flowers.com, Classmates.com, Hotwire.com, AirTrans Holdings, Continental Airlines, Barnes & Noble, Buy.com, Ticketmaster.com, Avon.com, Budget, Staples.com, GMAC Mortgage, Travelocity, Expedia/Hotel.com, Columbia House, Gamestop/EB Games, FTD, Intelius, Movietickets.com, Orbitz, Shutterfly, Inc., US Airways, Vistaprint USA, Redcats USA, and Pizza Hut.
The potentially improper, unauthorized, or fraudulent charge may show up on your credit card statement under one of the following businesses: American Express Health Services, At Home Rewards Club, Vertrue, Inc, Memberworks, Inc, DealPass, Privacy Matters, Sears PremierHealth, Sears CDHP, Sears CWD, Premier Health Plus, Premier Health, Healthtrends, HealthMax Advantage, First USA CWD, Countrywide Dental, WWF X-perience, ValueMax, Travel Club AMEX, SmartSource, Simple Escapes, Privacy Plus, Sears Healthtrends, Market Plaza, Leisure Advantage, HomeWorks, Home Works Plus, Home & Garden Rewards, GM Travel, Essentials, Essentials Gold, Countrywide Dental & Health, Connections, Cardmember Protection Service, BusinessMax, 24 Protect, 24 Protect Plus, First Fun, Todays Escapes, At Home Professions, Adaptive Marketing, Dealpass.com, Passport Of Fun, Vertrue Incorporated, Privacy Matters 123, Bargain Network, Freescore.com, Coverdell, DealMax, Family Safety Report, Credit Score Express, Credit Score Complete, Credit Diagnosis, SavingsAce, IdentityHawk, ClickMyCredit, LiveWell, Great Fun, Shopping Essentials, Privacy Guard, Shoppers Advantage, Travelers Advantage, Buyers Advantage, Privacy Guard (or Credit Alert), HealthSaver, Netmarket.com, CompleteHome, Great Options, Everyday Values, Auto Advantage, Complete Savings, HealthSaver, Just For Me, Everyday Privileges Gold, IdentitySecure, CardCops, PC SafetyPlus, and Hot-Line.
Even though these offers appear to be made by these online companies, they are in fact made by Trilegiant/Affinion, Vertrue, Inc., Adaptive Marketing, LLC, Idaptive Marketing, LLC, or another affiliate, which obtain the consumers' credit card information from these online companies or an affiliate to charge the recurring or annual fees to the credit card without obtaining a card holder’s consent. These may be unauthorized charges for which you or someone you know should receive a refund.
If you or someone you know has been charged such monthly, recurring or annual fees on your credit card within the last ten years, please contact LG Law via email or call us at 816-442-7002 to discuss how your claims might be made against these or other companies.
